Silicone Coatings

Well beyond the warranty period. Silicone is a U.V. stable material which doesn’t ‘burn off’ at the published rate (for Acrylic and Urethane coatings) of 1 mil per year. We install 21 DMT (Dry Mil Thickness) on a 10-Year Warranty or 28 DMT on a 15-Year Warranty (about the thickness of a nickel). Therefore, IF Silicone DID burn off at the burn off published rates for Acrylic and Urethane, our 10-Year Warrantied Silicone system would still have half the coating thickness at the end of the warranty. The reason that Acrylics and Urethane coatings have to be recoated frequently is due to their published burn off rates combined with the application thickness being very thin – you just can’t build up paint to the thickness of a nickel. The great news is that Silicone DOES NOT burn off at the published rates for Acrylics and Urethanes which translates into a supremely durable, long-term coating AND it can simply be cleaned and re-coating INDEFINITELY. Never re-roof again. Simply re-coat. Silicone is the only product that we see performing long term in the field.

Metal, Single-Ply (TPO, EPDM, Hypalon), Modifieds/BUR, SPUF. Exceptions: A built-up gravel roof must have 1”SPF installed prior to coating. We cannot coat a shingle roof (the shingle curls in the later life cycle breaking the waterproof seal).

A Spray Polyurethane Foam Roof System is widely considered to be the ONLY sustainable roof system on the market.
